A fascinating release from Speyside’s superb Balvenie Distillery. This expression was initially aged in American oak casks, before being transferred over to casks that previously held Pineau from France. This has introduced a generous helping of honey-glazed fruit and a subtle leafy hint to this 16 year old single malt’s flavour profile.

Tasting Notes — Johnnie Walker Aged 15 Years Sherry Finish

Nose (Aroma):
Rich and buttery with layers of honey, baked pastries, vanilla, dried fruits, and floral sweetness. Hints of orange blossom, fruit cake, and gentle oak spice develop with time in the glass.

The Balvenie 25 Year Old is an exquisite Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, part of the distillery’s ‘Rare Marriages’ series, a collection of three distinct whiskies, including The Balvenie Thirty and The Balvenie Forty.

This unique blend gets its name from the Scottish slang for a muscular strain suffered by malt men during the days when whisky was still made by hand. The three main single malt whiskies in Monkey Shoulder are Glenfiddich, Balvenie and Kininvie – all from Speyside, the spiritual home of whisky. This gives Monkey Shoulder its distinctive fruity and rich flavour profile.

Dewar’s 8 Years Ilegal Smooth Mezcal Cask is a brand new to world product from Dewar’s, bringing together the classic honeyed and fruity house style of the Dewar’s blend and adding this truly unique layer of flavour by finishing the blend in Ilegal Mezcal casks; giving it surprising notes of sliced green pepper and a long wisp of smoke finish.

Dewar’s 8 Years Japanese Smooth Mizunara Cask. Scotch whiskey maker Dewar has announced the launch of ‘Japanese Smooth,’ an 8-year-old blended whiskey that will be added to the brand’s premium Cask Series.

The Tomatin 14-Year-Old is soft, smooth and sweet, benefiting from its time spent in Tawny Port casks which previously held port for around 50 years. Rich but balanced aromas of red berries, sweet honey and rich toffee develop into aspects of light fruits and nuts on the palate and an abiding finish of smooth fruit salad.

This 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky amplifies The Singleton’s signature richness, in a harmony of rich fruits and silky toffee notes forged by our Trinity Harmony Philosophy. Three different cask styles have been united to create a Single Malt even greater than the sum of its parts.

• Colour: Barley straw.
• Aroma: Aromas of malt sugar and gentle peat smoke lead you into the dram. Layers of fresh green fruit come next followed by rose, geranium, apricot, and eucalyptus. Marzipan, ginger nut biscuits, and honeyed melon can also come through, with the malty fruity character coming to the fore with a little time.
