A 13th century Tuscan nobleman, Placido dei Placidi was the hero of the epic “Battle of Montaperti” between Florence and Siena. Planeta’s journey began at Sambuca di Sicilia, on the estate owned by the family since the 1600s. Here three enthusiastic young Sicilians, Alessio, Francesca and Santi Planeta, under the guidance of Diego Planeta, began their winemaking venture in the mid-1980s.

A highly concentrated ruby ​​red color, hinting at Mediterranean aromatic notes. Kalleske Greenock Shiraz vineyard is located on the Western edge of Greenock  Creek in the Northern Barossa Valley. The vineyard consists of shallow, sandy  loam soil over superb deep red clay and limestone, providing ideal conditions for  Shiraz vines.

The “Greenock” block of grapes was harvested on March 21st.
