• The Great Australian Blend: Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon are historic partners in Australian winemaking. The Shiraz provides an immediate explosion of rich, dark plum and sweet spice on the mid-palate, while the Cabernet forms a structural framework of classic structure, leafy aromatics, and long-lasting tannins.

• Wild Yeast Fermentation: Crafted using traditional, minimalist winemaking techniques. By allowing wild, indigenous yeasts found naturally in the vineyards to drive fermentation, Yalumba coaxes out an incredibly complex, authentic expression of the Barossa terroir.

• Estate-Crafted Cooperage Aging: Yalumba is the only winery in the Southern Hemisphere to operate a fully functional, traditional on-site cooperage. This wine is matured in a precise mix of fine-grained French, American, and Hungarian oak barrels—crafted by hand—to seamlessly integrate sweet spiced oak without overwhelming the bright fruit.

• Sustainably Grown & Vegan Friendly: Sourced strictly from sustainable vineyards across the Barossa valley floor and the cooler Eden Valley hills. It is entirely vegan-friendly, as no animal products are used for fining or filtration, ensuring maximum flavor purity.

Wine Tasting Notes

• Appearance: Deep, dark crimson red with vibrant purple hues at the rim.

• Nose: An inviting, complex bouquet bursting with dark brambly fruits, ripe black cherries, and plums. Underlying layers reveal subtle dried Mediterranean herbs, wild mint, dark chocolate, and a hint of white pepper and sweet vanilla bean from the oak.

• Palate: Medium to full-bodied, boasting excellent density and energy. The palate opens with the juicy, plush sweetness of blackberry and dark plum fruit (courtesy of the Shiraz). This transitions into a firm, elegant mid-palate driven by structured, fine-grained Cabernet tannins and a touch of savory cedar wood.

• Finish: Long, structured, and beautifully balanced. The dark fruit flavors linger pleasantly alongside a velvety, slightly chalky tannin finish that gives the wine exceptional length and aging potential.
