Planeta today, encompasses six distinct wine estates in five regions across Sicily; Ulmo at Sambuca di Sicilia, Dispensa at Menfi, Dorilli at Vittoria, Buonivini at Noto, Sciara Nuova on Etna at Castiglione di Sicilia, and the newest addition, La Baronia at Capo Milazzo. La Segreta takes its name from the wood that surrounds the vineyard at Ulmo. All the grapes are cultivated in vineyards owned by Planeta. La Segreta is the versatile companion for daily drinking, suitable for the most diverse occasions.
TASTING NOTES
Aroma: Aromas of ripe dark fruit — think currants, mulberries, blackberries/black plums with hints of spice and a subtle menthol/green herbal note.
Palate: Medium-bodied with juicy dark fruit flavors — wild berries and black fruit profile. Fresh acidity and a slightly herbaceous edge keep it lively and balanced. Soft, well-integrated tannins make it easy to drink and versatile with food.
Finish: Smooth and approachable with lingering fruit and gentle spice/herbal hints — a savory, refreshing finish rather than heavy oak influence.
